Plasmid MLST Databases

This site uses two linked databases powered by the BIGSdb genomics platform. The sequence definition database contains allele sequence and MLST profile definitions whereas the isolate database contains provenance and epidemiological information. Further details about BIGSdb can be found in Jolley & Maiden 2010, BMC Bioinformatics 11:595.

The Plasmid MLST website contains databases containing definitions for MLST of the A/C, I1, HI1, HI2, F and N incompatibility groups.

Please note that we will be upgrading the operating system on the primary database server on Thursday 22 November. Access to the databases will be maintained from a backup server, but offline jobs and access to the automated submission system will be disabled while the work is carried out.

IncI1, IncHI2, F and N schemes: developed by Aurora García-Fernández and Alessandra Carattoli, Istituto Superiore di Sanità, Rome, Italy (funded by the European Commission and the Italian Ministry of Research and University). Curated by Alessandra Carattoli.

IncHI1 scheme: developed by Minh-Duy Phan and John Wain when they were at The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, Hinxton, Cambridge, UK. Curated by Minh-Duy Phan.

IncA/C scheme: developed by Steven Hancock, Minh-Duy Phan and Mark Schembri at The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia. Curated by Steven Hancock and Minh-Duy Phan.

Citing the database
