Pasteurella multocida MLST Databases

This site uses two linked databases powered by the BIGSdb genomics platform. The sequence definition database contains allele sequence and MLST profile definitions whereas the isolate database contains provenance and epidemiological information. Further details about BIGSdb can be found in Jolley & Maiden 2010, BMC Bioinformatics 11:595.

These databases host two separate P. multocida MLST schemes.

  • Multi-host MLST
    • This scheme covers isolates from various hosts, including cattle, sheep, pigs and birds. It was developed to investigate evolutionary relationships of isolates from different host species. Developed by Robert Davies (University of Glasgow, UK).
    • This scheme was developed initially to investigate avian isolates. Developed by Sounthi Subaaharan and Pat Blackall (Animal Research Institute, Australia). Original funding was provided by the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDC).
