The S. oralis and S. mutans MLST schemes were developed by Thuy Do, William Wade and David Beighton, King's College London, UK (Do et al. 2009 Microbiology 155:2593-2602; Do et al. 2010 PLoS One 5:e9073)

A second S. mutans scheme is also hosted within this database. This scheme was developed by Kazuhiko Nakano, Jinthana Lapirattanakul, and colleagues at Osaka University, Japan and Mahidol University, Thailand (Lapirattanakul et al. 2008 Caries Res 42:466-74).
