Pasteurella multocida MLST Databases

There are currently two Pasteurella multocida schemes. For each scheme the MLST website contains two linked databases - one for allelic profiles and sequences, the other for isolate information. This structure offers advantages over a single database system. Further details can be found here.

Schemes

  • Multiple host MLST
    • This scheme covers isolates from various hosts, including cattle, sheep, pigs and birds. It was developed to investigate evolutionary relationships of isolates from different host species.
    • Developed by Robert Davies (University of Glasgow, UK).
  • RIRDC MLST
    • This scheme was developed initially to investigate avian isolates.
    • Developed by Sounthi Subaaharan and Pat Blackall (Animal Research Institute, Australia). Original funding was provided by the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDC)

The use of these databases is subject to the terms of their respective policy documents and they should be acknowledged in all publications that make use of them.
