Plasmid MLST Databases

This site uses two linked databases powered by the BIGSdb genomics platform. The sequence definition database contains allele sequence and MLST profile definitions whereas the isolate database contains provenance and epidemiological information. Further details about BIGSdb can be found in Jolley & Maiden 2010, BMC Bioinformatics 11:595.

The Plasmid MLST website contains databases containing definitions for MLST of the I1, HI1, HI2, F and N incompatibility groups.

IncI1, IncHI2, F and N schemes: developed by Aurora García-Fernández and Alessandra Carattoli, Istituto Superiore di Sanità, Rome, Italy (funded by the European Commission and the Italian Ministry of Research and University). Curated by Alessandra Carattoli.

IncHI1 scheme: developed by Minh-Duy Phan and John Wain when they were at The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, Hinxton, Cambridge, UK. Curated by Minh-Duy Phan.

Citing the database

The preferred format for citing this website in publications is:

This publication made use of the plasmid MLST website (http://pubmlst.org/ plasmid/) developed by Keith Jolley and sited at the University of Oxford (Jolley & Maiden 2010, BMC Bioinformatics, 11:595). The development of this site has been funded by the Wellcome Trust.
