Downloading profiles and allele sequences

The website makes it easy to download all known allelic profiles, allele sequences, and for some species, sample trace files.

Allelic profiles

The allelic profiles can be downloaded in tab-delimited text format. This is easily parsed by computer and can be imported into a spreadsheet if necessary. Where appropriate clonal complex designations may be included in this file.

Allele sequences

Allele sequences are available for download in multiple formats (Mega, Fasta, Nexus, ClustalW, MSF and Phylip). If a locus contains sequences of variable lengths, due to the presence of insertions or deletions, only the FASTA format is available as the other formats require aligned sequences and these can not be rapidly produced on demand.

Trace files

For some species, the curator may make the original allele sequence trace files available for download. Available sequences are listed in a drop-down box:

Once the allele has been selected, the forward and reverse trace files will be displayed using a Java applet, along with the allele sequence itself.
