Sequence Type Analysis and Recombinational Tests Version 2

START (Sequence Type Analysis and Recombinational Tests) version 2 is a selection of tools useful in the analysis of MLST data. These tools can be broadly divided into four categories:

START2 is still in development and much of its functionality has not yet been implemented. It is being made available because it already performs most of the analyses available in the original version.

START2 is written in Java and has been tested on Windows and Linux systems. The software makes use of the native system web browser, either Mozilla or Internet Explorer, and will not function if neither are present. The program will not run on Macintosh operating systems.

The easiest way to install START2 is via Java Webstart, which will also ensure that you are always running the latest version. You must have at least Java 2 Standard Edition version 5 installed which includes Webstart. Provided Webstart is properly associated with .jnlp files the program can be installed by clicking the link below:

This software does not currently run on Windows VISTA.
